Our next course for the MRCPCH clinical examination is a three day course comprising of detailed discussion on communication, history taking, short cases followed by a mock exam. The course will be held on 11th,12th and 13th October 2019  at

The course will start at 9’o clock on the 5th (Fri) and finish by 5 pm  on the 7th(Sun) of January 2018

Day 1- AAMRI Hospital,MUKUNDOPUR  -Communication and focused history & management
Day 2- SANJIBAN Hospital -Clinical stations & Video scenarios
Day 3- SANJIBAN Hospital - Mock exam with feedback
The course fees is INR 32000 for full three day course or INR 10000 for each single day.:

Accommodation: Venue (D2 &D3) Sanjiban Hospital is on the NH6 towards Kharagpur, approx. 45 km from the city of Kolkata. Taxis are available from the airport or train station. You are advised to stay near to Sanjibani Hospital  . For any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Assesses whether candidates have reached the standard in clinical skills expected of a newly appointed Specialty Trainee 4 (ST4), and run as an Objective Structure Clinical Examination (OCSE). 

Candidates must have first passed all three MRCPCH theory exams.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in:

  • communication
  • history-taking and management planning
  • establishing rapport with both parents and children
  • physical examination
  • child development
  • clinical judgment
  • organisation of thoughts and actions
  • recognition of acute illness
  • knowledge of paediatrics and child health
  • professional behaviour
  • ethical practice.

MRCPCH Clinical - information for candidates



The basic examination circuit is represented in the diagram below (last revised January 2009):

  • 1 Examiner per station, none for clinical video scenario stations.
  • 10 Examiners for the circuit, 1 additional examiner for back up / quality assurance.
  • Candidates join at each station of the circuit making 12 total per circuit.
  • 2 candidates at the History Taking and Management Planning station & 2 at the Clinical Video Scenario station at any one time.
  • In total there are 10 objective assessments per candidate.
  • The History-taking & Management Planning Stations and the Clinical Video Scenario Stations are 22 minutes in length, with the other 8 stations being of 9 minutes duration.
  • There are 4-minute breaks between each Station with the entire circuit taking 152 minutes to complete.
  • The sequence in which a candidate takes the stations in the circuit will vary.
